April 8, 2024 will be A Blackout to Remember in University Heights. A total eclipse of the sun will occur on April 8, and University Heights’ Walter Stinson Community Park will be one of the best places to view it.

Join us at The Walt to celebrate the sun and view the eclipse. Enjoy Odd Dog Coffee. Participate in children’s activities led by Heights Libraries University Heights Branch. Dance to music curated by John Carroll University’s Zachary ‘DJ Z13’ Sinutko.

All attendees will receive a free pair of University Heights viewing glasses so that you can safely view the eclipse.

A partial eclipse of the sun will begin at 1:59, and totality will occur from 3:13-3:17 p.m. Learn more about what to expect from NASA here. You won’t want to miss it as the next total eclipse won’t be visible again in the contiguous United States for another 20 years!
