Purvis Park features tennis courts, a picnic pavilion and the municipal swimming pool. It was named in honor of Boyd J. Purvis, who served as principal of Wiley Junior High School from 1954-1970 and as a University Heights City Councilmember from 1973-1975. His wife, Thelma, was active in the University Heights Women’s Club. Both were named Citizen of the Year in 1961, and Boyd was honored by the City with a Distinguished Public Servant award in 1975.
- The Adele H. Zucker Pavilion was named in honor of the long-serving University Heights City Council Member, who served on the council from 1983-2009, including as Vice Mayor from 2000-2009.

No Permits are Required Bicycles in the park:
Two hour limit – Two Table limit Bike racks are available
First come, first serve basis Owner must have a bike lock
Not available for parties
