Purvis Park features tennis courts, a picnic pavilion and the municipal swimming pool. It was named in honor of Boyd J. His wife, Thelma, was active in the University Heights Women’s Club. Both were named Citizen of the Year in 1961, and Boyd was honored by the City with a Distinguished Public Servant award in 1975.

  1. The Adele H. Zucker Pavilion was named in honor of the long-serving University Heights City Council Member, who served on the council from 1983-2009, including as Vice Mayor from 2000-2009.
