Department Makeup
Mayor, who is elected by the people, is the Chief Executive Officer of the City, also serves as Safety Director and oversees the Administration Department.
Clerk of Council acts as the administrative assistant to the Mayor and supervisor of the administrative staff.
Two full-time secretaries, one part-time clerk and one switchboard operator.
Activities of the Department
Provide clerical support to Mayor, Clerk of Council, Community Coordinator, Fire Department and Service Department.
Assist general public with telephone inquiries.
Process special pickup requests, garage sale permits, requests for public records, fire run reports.
Distributes applications for employment and voter registration cards.
Registers police and fire applicants for civil service exams.
Assist citizen committees with the City’s major civic events such as the annual Memorial Day Parade, Civic Award “Main Street” Reception, flower sale, Arbor Day Ceremony and the employee appreciation event.
Sells recreation passes for Purvis Park.
